A fine acquisition

BASF is to acquire 100% of Orgamol, a privately owned Swiss manufacturer of fine chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, advanced pharmaceutical intermediates and generics.
The necessary majority of Orgamol’s Swiss employees approved the deal last Saturday, with over 99% agreeing to sell their 25% share in the company to BASF.
At the beginning of June 2005, BASF reached an agreement with the private owners regarding the sale of their 75% share in the company.
