Shell seeks Fluor services
18 Aug 2005
Fluor has won a contract to provide engineering and project management services for two of Shell’s major European chemicals assets, at Pernis and Moerdijk in the Netherlands.
The contract, for which the value was not disclosed, runs for three years, with an option to extend for another two.
The project will see Fluor help Shell ‘establish greater consistency and higher performance levels in the execution of small capital and plant modification projects’ at Pernis and Moerdijk.
The company will have small teams located at both sites, and will manage and execute the operations from its local office in Bergen op Zoom.
‘Executing this work under a pay-for-performance contract cultivates a cooperative environment that drives both companies’ teams to continually identify and implement the best possible solutions for Shell’s capital programme,’ comments Ivor Harrington, vice-president for Fluor’s International Operations and Maintenance unit.
