27 Oct 2005
Yokogawa is to design, supply and install a new integrated control and safety system on the Bruce platform in the North Sea.
The Bruce platform in the North Sea is to be upgraded following the award of a contract by its operator, BP Exploration, to Yokogawa for the design, engineering, supply and installation of a new integrated control and safety system.
The project is to replace the platform’s existing control and monitoring system, emergency shutdown system (ESD) and the fire and gas system, along with the human-machine interface (HMI).
All date from 1992, when the platform was first installed 340km northeast of
The project will take place in two stages: an initial front end engineering design (FEED) phase to define the detailed requirements, followed by detailed design and implementation, which will take place during a three-week shutdown of the platform.
