Paperless recorder

Customised user screens can easily be created by dropping in one or more Java components from the comprehensive library supplied. The Model 6100A, the smaller of the two instruments initially making up the series, uses a digital 1/4VGA colour touch screen display, while the larger 6180A has a larger (1024x768 pixels) XGA display offering higher resolution and sharper images.
Where a touch screen is not suited to the process, a mouse can be plugged into the USB port on the front of the recorder and used for navigation. Similarly, other ‘plug and play’ devices — such as memory sticks or barcode scanners — can interface with the recorder without complex configuration procedures.
The instruments come with varying levels of onboard flash memory, ranging up to 96Mb. Removable media choices include compact flash (SF), secure digital (SD) and USB memory stick.
In addition to providing plug and play remote visualisation over the standard office Ethernet, the recorder software can be configured and upgraded from a single administration point using the built-in FTP client/server software. A central security manager server can also be used to set security permissions, thus restricting access to sensitive data. For FDA validated applications, the 6000 Series includes signed operator comments, integrated audit trail — to meet 21 CFR Pt 11 — and password element controls.
