Tata says hallo to Pavilion
8 Feb 2006
The IT skills of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the process control software of Pavilion Technologies are being combined in a global partnership designed to provide process industry companies with improved operational performance.
The partnership will leverage Pavilion’s process modelling, control and optimisation technology with the domain expertise and system integration capabilities of TCS. It will also include collaborative research and development on emerging manufacturing opportunities.
According to Tom Fiske, an analyst at US consultancy ARC Advisory Group, a recent survey of manufacturers indicated they are putting advanced process control at the top of their list of high-value automation projects. He says the combination of Pavilion and TCS will enable APC users to drive down implementation costs while enhancing the overall return on their investment.
Based in Austin, Texas, venture-backed Pavilion specialises in the development of advanced process control and environmental technology systems. TCS is headquartered in India and provides IT consulting and business process outsourcing services. It had consolidated revenues of $2.24bn in its last financial year.
