UK piping software firm attracts US buyer
Intergraph Corp., a US supplier of software for global plant design and shipbuilding industries, has acquired Alias Ltd of Runcorn for an undisclosed sum, Intergraph announced 14 Feb.
Alias, which employs around 30, specialises in piping design automation software. The firm’s flagship product ISOGEN is sold to OE customers, including Intergraph, Coade and Bentley, who integrate the system into their 3D plant design software.
“Alias provides our Process, Power & Marine division with a complementary critical piping technology,” said Halsey Wise, president and CEO of Huntsville-based Intergraph.
