Munters Reduce Running Costs - Ingenious and Efficient!

Controlled Therapeutics (Scotland) Limited, East Kilbride, Glasgow are a key pharmaceutical company in Scotland in the fields of development, manufacture and licensing of pharmaceutical products based on patented drug delivery technologies. It is very important to them that the cost of energy used by the Munters dehumidification systems, which they have installed, is kept as low as possible.

They contacted Munters to discuss the options available and it was decided to fit an Internal Energy Recovery System to each of their existing dehumidifiers using Munters qualified specialist service engineers.

Munters has designed a new integral energy recovery system, which offers significant savings in energy costs. This new optimised design ensures that the Munters dehumidifier’s performance is not affected, and the system can be installed on electric, gas and steam heated units, either as a retrofit or as an option for new units.

The payback for this installation was one year and the existing system only had to be shut down for a maximum 12 hour period. Other benefits of the Internal Energy Recovery System are that the work is integral, therefore, there is no additional costly ductwork or alterations and there are no additional maintenance costs.
