Slovnaft to employ advanced process control (APC) and optimisation applications Process Solutions(HPS)at its site near Bratislava.
Phoenix, Arizona -- Slovak chemicals producer Slovnaft, part of MOL, is to employ advanced process control (APC) and optimisation applications from Honeywell Process Solutions(HPS)at its site near Bratislava.
The contract with covers implementation of HPS’Profit Controller and Profit Optimizer systems on the hot and cold sections of the ethylene process unit at the site. The technology, said HPS, will enable Slovnaft to improve furnace rates by up to 5% and reduce energy consumption at the plant.
Honeywell has previously implemented APC projects on the plant’s fluid catalytic cracking unit, VY hydrotreater unit, and residue hydrocracker units.
“APC and Optimization provides an economical and efficient means for manufacturers like Slovnaft to improve plant and operator performance,” said Zak Alzein, global business director chemicals at HPS.
