2005 a Great Year for Grundfos
16 May 2006
A combination of high earnings with effective control of working capital meant the global pump manufacturer were able to fund a large part of the capital investment involved in establishing new factories in China, India, Russia and Hungary. These new facilities alone offer an additional 55,000 square metres of production capacity.
To remain at the forefront of pump technology means investing heavily in R&D. In 2005 this figure reached £59 million, the highest amount, to date, invested in new product development. Although developing new products is an important part of the future growth strategy for Grundfos, acquisition will also continue to play an important role, with four established pump companies being bought during the 2004/2005 period.
2006 has already started on a very positive note with turnover showing a 13% increase over the same period of 2005.
