Alpha has chosen NOT to change the part numbers of RoHS compliant products based upon their ability to segregate their inventory, clearly identify the compliant products and allow for a seamless and uninterrupted supply of products well in advance of the July 2006 deadline.
Maser as Alpha distributors, will throughout our global supply chain use the Alpha Wire date of manufacture (DOM) and Packing List identification to supply a seamless uninterrupted supply of product prior to the July 2006 deadline. This strategy will provide the simplest and least disruptive method for ordering and utilizing Alpha Wire Company RoHS Compliant products.
Alpha Wire Company's objective is to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain for RoHS compliant material. The primary goal is to supply identical form, fit and function wire, cable and tubing products that meet the RoHS directive requirements. Existing and future user specifications, bill of materials and print specification drawings have also been taken into consideration.
Alpha Wire Company has been working diligently to qualify 100% of our RoHS affected products well in advance of the July 2006 deadline. A substantial part of Alpha's PVC and Teflon Hook-Up Wire, Heat Shrinkable Tubing and Cable products became RoHS compliant in the year 2004. Since almost 100% of all affected Alpha products which require compliance will be compliant by mid year 2005, one year ahead of the compliance deadline, Alpha non-RoHS compliant inventory will be substantially eliminated throughout the supply chain before the deadline of July 2006.
Maser UK as an Alpha Wire Company Distributors are able to check factory inventory availability for RoHS compliant products under the same legacy part number and Alpha's internal customer service systems will clearly and easily identify RoHS compliant inventory. Purchase and inventory allocations of RoHS compliant products will be completely separate from non-RoHS compliant products.
