New capacitive level sensor ideal for use in fuel cells

E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a new, IP68 protected, capacitive level sensor which is ideal for monitoring de-ionised water in fuel cells, and for monitoring aggressive liquids in the chemical industry.
The new E-T-A NR260 Level Sensor has an extremely robust design, able to withstand the extreme pressure and temperature variations experienced in fuel cells. The de-ionised water that is produced as a waste product in fuel cells must be pumped off regularly and reliably. The NR260 provides Maximum Level monitoring based on a factory pre-set switch point. It provides a short-circuit proof 1A switching output signal within 150ms of the maximum level being reached (±2mm). Standard factory settings are for de-ionised water and for tap water, or for other media upon request as the settings can be adjusted via a programmable interface.
The E-T-A NR260 is constructed of Hastelloy C4 and stainless steel, while the probe itself is covered by a special enamel layer making it suitable for reliable, long term level monitoring in fuel cells and applications involving aggressive materials as used in the chemical industry. It is designed to fit standard G ¾ screw-thread fittings. The NR260 offers IP68 protection against ingress by water, vapour or dust when fitted with a standard M12 connector and lead. The connector and lead is available for supply voltage and signalling as an optional extra.
