Linde opts for Honeywell process design software

Offenbach, Germany -- Linde Engineering Division, part of Linde AG, is to employ Honeywell’s UniSim Design Suite process design software. The move is part of an agreement that also commits the companies to a joint development programme to improve the engineering efficiency, said a 22 June Honeywell announcement.

The Honeywell software and the joint development programme offer “the best in future simulation software for process design of our olefin, hydrogen and synthesis gas plants,” said Dr. Gabriele Engl, manager of Information Systems for Process Engineering at Linde Engineering.

"UniSim Design will allow our engineers to improve process calculations and more easily determine the most economical and reliable plant design," added Engl, commenting in a Honeywell press statement.

Based on the HYSYS intellectual property acquired from Aspen Technology, UniSim Design is designed to enable engineers to create process designs based on critical business objectives. The software facilitates steady-state and dynamic simulation of oil, gas and refining processes.
