Ametex buys Land Instruments

New York — US analytical instrumentation company Ametek Inc. has acquired Land Instruments International Ltd — the Dronfield, Derbyshire-based supplier of industrial temperature measurement, combustion and emissions monitoring equipment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ametek will position Land Instruments within its Electronic Instruments Group (EIG), the Paoli, Pennsylvania-based company said. The EIG unit supplies monitoring, testing, calibration and display instruments for the process, aerospace and power industries worldwide.

“The addition of Land Instruments' high temperature monitoring and control systems expands Ametek’s on-line process monitoring capabilities, adding to our existing strengths in on-line composition and moisture analysis,” said Frank Hermance, Ametek chairman and CEO.

Land’s range of infrared thermometers, linescanners and thermal imagers are used in the metal, glass and mineral processing industries worldwide. The company also supplies combustion efficiency and environmental monitoring products for the power and process industries.
