Glovebox will be used in pilot plants for researching molten salts cooling techniques
Wolverhampton, UK — The Technology Centre at Sellafield is to install a new glovebox, which is currently undergoing final assembly at the Wolverhampton works of Nuclear Engineering Services Ltd (NES).
The 6mm stainless steel construction will be used in pilot plants for researching molten salts cooling techniques. The work is being carried out at the fuel development laboratories of the Sellafield centre, which is operated by Nexia Solutions Ltd on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
NES designs and manufactures gloveboxes enclosures for housing complex processing and handling equipment in the nuclear and pharmaceutical industries. The company’s services include leak testing and demonstration of shell integrity.
