Chemicals maker welcomes Duke of York to view £390-million modernisation programme at Runcorn
Runcorn, UK — Chemical manufacturer INEOS ChlorVinyls has welcomed HRH the Duke of York its Runcorn chemicals manufacturing site — the focus of an on-going £390-million modernisation programme. The VIP is the special representative for the International Trade & Investment, which supports UK companies trading internationally and foreign investment.
The INEOS programme, called Project Genesis, is designed to improve the competitive cost base of Runcorn Site. Launched two years ago, the project has delivered a new state-of-the-art chlorine cellroom , a steam generating boiler plant and a centralised control room, said INEOS.
“We are extremely proud of the achievements we have made over the past two years to modernise our operations at Runcorn Site, and this visit recognises the important contribution our business makes to the UK economy,” said Tom Crotty, INEOS ChlorVinyls chairman.
“Our new boiler plant and chlorine cellroom put us in an excellent position from which to further develop Runcorn Site as a world class manufacturing facility,” the INEOS ChlorVinyls chairrman added in a 19 July press statement.
