Maelstrom enters China mixer deal

Manchester-based equipment maker signs licensing deal for the manufacture and sale of rotor-stator mixers
Manchester, UK —Maelstrom Advanced Process Technologies Ltd has signed a licensing deal with Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery Group Co., for the manufacture and sale of its patented FDM (Fluid Division Mixing) range of rotor-stator mixers in China.
Under the deal, Yiyang will also manufacture FDM mixers for Maelstrom and its other licensees around the world. The Chinese company, part of the ChemChina Group, is a leading global supplier of mixers to various global markets.
Maelstrom will soon offer a new economy range of its Distromix FDM mixers in Europe, the UK high shear mixer maker added in a 9 Aug statement on the deal.
Maelstrom has a range of patented technologies for rotor-stator and nozzle-type mixers for applications ranging from powder dispersion and wet milling to emulsification. The Manchester-based company supplies equipment to the food, pharmaceuticals, paint, inks and petrochemicals industries worldwide.
