Asia food major opts for UK boiler technology

Bristol, UK — Tokyo-based Food processing equipment maker Powerpoint International has taken delivery of a Electropack electric boiler from Fulton Boiler Works of Bristol. The unit forms part of a UHT/HTST system for the R&D centre of Korean-based CJ Corp. — Asia’s largest chilled and fresh food processor.
The Electropack boiler is designed to provide electrically-heated, pressurised culinary-grade hot water for SIP and direct and indirect heating using tubular heat exchangers. This was supplied— as a skid-mounted unit with water softener and chemical dosage ancillaries — to Powerpoint in Japan, and commissioned by a Fulton service engineer after shipment to Korea.
“The skid mounted Electropack boiler really complements our system and is ideal where steam raising equipment is not suitable for the process or indeed available. We are so impressed with the performance that we have ordered two more Electropack boilers for another application,” said Neil Burgon, Powerpoint MD.
