US firms’ in wireless link

Ottawa, Illinois – Automation and communications company B&B Electronics has acquired Advanced Embedded Systems (AES), a Phoenix Arizona-based, designer and developer of industrial wireless technology, the companies announced 14 Sept.
According to B&B, the acquisition gives it in-house wireless design expertise and enhanced R&D capabilities. AES, it added, will join B&B Electronics’ engineering and technical group, based in Ottawa, Illinois.
“In addition to providing B&B Electronics with a broader range of wireless solutions, the AES purchase brings a tremendous amount of customer and market knowledge,” said Don Wiencek, president of B&B Electronics.
“This investment positions B&B Electronics to continue its aggressive growth in the industrial wireless market” added Richard McGrail, president of Avtek, Inc. — the parent company of B&B Electronics.
With offices in the US and Europe, B&B Electronics designs and manufactures industrial connectivity products such as communications protocol converters and Ethernet infrastructure products for markets worldwide.
