Netsch bases global services in UK

Lichfield, UK — Netzsch Mastermix Ltd of Lichfield, has been appointed a “centre of expertise” for the Netzsch Group, — a move which will see it head up the worldwide process and plant engineering services for the German-based equipment maker.

The UK division has significant expertise in grinding & dispersion, and will now provide these services to Netzsch and its customers everywhere, said David Tomlinson, MD of the UK operation. “It’s a key strategic investment for Netzsch and recognition of our success in the UK.”

Netzsch Mastermix’s services range from plant process design, through to the plant engineering and project management. The UK firm employs mechanical, electrical, software and process engineers, as well as project engineers to oversee projects from start to finish.

Grinding & dispersing equipment represented 30% of Netzsch group sales of Euro220 million in fiscal 2006; the remainder coming from its Pumps and Analyzing & Testing divisions, at 53% and 17%, respectively.

Netzsch grinding and dispersion equipment is used in applications such as ceramics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, paints, sealants & adhesives, hard metals, cosmetics, and confectionery.
