Atlas Copco acquires German toolmaker

Microtec Systems specialises in advanced electric tightening tools for small screw applications
Hemel Hempstead, UK — Atlas Copco has acquired Microtec Systems GmbH, a Stuttgart, Germany-based toolmaker specialising in advanced electric tightening tools for small screw applications. The acquired company will join Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems General Industry division and operate under the Atlas Copco and Microtek brands.
According to Atlas Copco, Microtec’s product portfolio and electronics industry customer focus will complement its range of industrial tools. “ By adding to Atlas Copco’s worldwide channels to market, the business is expected to grow significantly,” said a 9 Oct press statement.
“The electronics industry is growing fast and is an important customer segment for us,” said Fredrik Moeller, business area president of Atlas Copco Industrial Technique. “Through this acquisition we will be able to offer these, and other customers, the widest and most competitive product range.”
