FW adds SINOPEC boiler contract

Chinese major to install circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) boilers at Tianjin ethylene complex
Hamilton, Bermuda — China Petrochemical Corp. (SINOPEC) has awarded Foster Wheeler Ltd. contracts to design and supply three 100 MWe circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) boilers. The units are scheduled for startup at SINOPEC Tianjin Co.’s ethylene complex in Tianjin City, China, in 2008.
The petroleum coke-fired boilers will be designed by Foster Wheeler International Engineering & Consulting (Shanghai) Co. Ltd and manufactured by Foster Wheeler
Power Machinery Co. Ltd at its facility in Xinhui, China, FW said 24 Oct.
The boilers will be similar in design to the FW boilers already in operation at SINOPEC's Maoming refinery in China. The Chinese major has now purchased 19 CFB boilers from FW in the last 10 years.
