Perle Systems Introduces New IOLAN I/O Device Servers
6 Dec 2006
Perle IOLAN I/O Device Servers offer comprehensive access and control of remote digital I/O, analog I/O, relays and temperature sensors over Ethernet
Weybridge, November 15, 2006 — Today, over 1 billion I/O devices require Ethernet connectivity for companies to operate efficiently. According to the FocalPoint Group, LLC, that need will grow to over 1 Trillion devices by 2010. Perle Systems has launched a new line of IOLAN I/O Device Servers with the ability to monitor environmental alarms, intrusion detection, relay contact closures and equipment failure over Ethernet. Through remote administrator or application control, opening and closing of integrated relay contacts or activation of digital output signals can be incorporated into any response of a critical event.
"The monitoring and protection of high-value distributed I/O assets involves more than simple access to its data, it also involves the protection and control of its physical environment along with the ability to take corrective action when necessary”, according to Al Davies, Director of Product Marketing at Perle Systems. “Digital and analog sensors, proximity and mechanical switches, relays, pushbuttons, temperature and humidity sensors can assist in determining the integrity of the asset’s local environment.
Information from these sent back to a central support location over a network can help an enterprise react more quickly to an important event or failure. IOLAN DS I/O Device Servers are ideal for these applications.”
With 12 new models, IOLAN I/O Device Servers can be used in a variety of applications such as: Building Automation/HVAC, Retail Automation, Secure Industrial & Utility Automation and Telecommunications for alarms, security access, environmental sensors, lighting, temperatures and other functions that require remote monitoring and managing.
