Former ICI boss takes charge at Bayer MaterialScience

Thomas' leadership of German polymers major follows high level roles at Huntsman and ICI
Leverkusen, Germany -- Patrick Thomas has taken over as chairman of Bayer MaterialScience AG as of 1 Jan, succeeding Dr. Hagen Noerenberg, who has retired.
Thomas, who joined Bayer MaterialScience last August, was formerly president of Huntsman Corp’s Polyurethanes, Performance and Advanced Materials divisions and before that global CEO of ICI Polyurethane. He has also held senior positions at ICI Pharmaceuticals and Agrochemicals in the UK.
Thomas is chairman of the Oxford University Business Economics Programme Board (OUBEP) and Lecturer at The Windsor Leadership Trust. He graduated from Oxford University with an engineering degree in 1979.
