Employees now recovering at home after accident that occurred “during a non-routine operation
Manchester, UK –The two BASF plc employees who were hospitalised following a chemical leak at the company’s Seal Sands site on Teesside, 4 Jan, are now recovering at home, the company has announced. The condition of one of the workers had previously been described as "critical."
The company has now completed its probe into a leak of hexamethylenediamine from a pipeline at the nylon intermediates plant, which it stated occurred “during a non-routine operation. Health & Safety Executive investigations are continuing.
BASF last week restarted the hexamethylenediamine plant at the Seal Sands site.
