Shell tweaks chemicals team

London -- Shell Chemicals has appointed Iain Lo as vice president of its APME (Asia Pacific / Middle East) Ventures and Developments unit, replacing Tan Ek Kia who has retired. Lo was previously senior regional advisor for Shell's businesses in the Asia Pacific region before joining Shell Chemicals in late-2006.

The company has also appointed new general managers within its leadership team, with Anne Cook joining as general manager of its PDO/Corterra business unit, based in Houston, Texas. She was previously general manager for Honeywell International’s advanced fibres and composites business.

Bob Chouffot, meanwhile, has been appointed general manager, Higher Olefins and Derivatives based in Houston. He has 25 years' experience with Shell in Chemicals and Oil Products, including business, commercial, strategy and operations management.

Fang Yea Yee has taken on the role of general manager, Styrene and Propylene Oxide. He has held a number of senior positions in Shell Chemicals including supply chain management roles. Most recently he was the general manager for the Shell Eastern Petrochemicals Complex -- a proposed new cracker and ethylene glycol plant in Singapore.

Kevin Heng has joined as site manager for Shell Chemicals Seraya PTE Ltd, the Singapore plant which manufactures styrene monomer, propylene oxide, polyether polyols and propylene glycols. He joined Shell from Singapore Refining Co. where he was deputy general manager.
