Former DuPont fibres business in strategic process control and automation deal
London – Invista – the former DuPont fibres and polymers business – has started a global strategic arrangement with Honeywell covering a range process control and automation systems, under an agreement announced 7 Feb.
Invista already employs versions of Honeywell platforms to control its manufacturing processes. The agreement gives Invista access to the supplier’s latest process control & integration platforms and will help it to enhance its processes and upgrade plant assets.
As a global company with plants around the world, Invista requires strategic sourcing agreements with global reach and universally accepted technologies, according to Andy Cunningham, director of sourcing at the fibres major.
“After auditing several suppliers, we determined Honeywell is a world-class player and a good fit for our businesses. Its … distributed control systems, security products and building control systems help us avoid costly shutdowns and high maintenance costs, which makes our overall business more profitable,” Cunningham stated.
