Industrial automation boss Kaihori to take over as director and president of Japanese group
Tokyo -- Yokogawa Electric Corp. is to appoint Shuzo Kaihori, director and senior vice president, Industrial Automation Business Headquarters, to the position of representative director and president. Isao Uchida, the group's current representative director and president, is to become representative director and chairman.
Kaihori joined Yokogawa in 1973 and went on to hold a series of senior positions in engineering, sales, systems marketing, field instruments, and service. In 2000 he became president of Yokogawa Corp. of America and five years later was appointed group vice president, with responsibility for the industrial automation business. Last year, Kaihori was promoted to senior vice president and joined the group’s board. He has a Master's degree in Engineering from Keio University.
The appointments are to take effect on 1 April and are part of an on-going corporate strategy at Yokogawa to improve its business structure and management efficiency.
