Remote telemetry and associated analysis and reporting software from Epsom-based MetaSphere
Epsom, UK -- Anglian Water has placed an order for 300 remote telemetry units (RTUs) and associated analysis and reporting software from Epsom-based MetaSphere, formerly a division of LogicaCMG.
The RTUs will help Anglian to manage its pollution prevention operations and will be installed on its regional telemetry system already monitoring over 12,000 separate locations in its clean water and wastewater networks.
MetaSphere’s RTUs are designed to enable users to access web-based reports showing information collected from sites. The ability to view network status and analyse historical activity allows companies to be more proactive in preventing unnecessary discharging and taking corrective action, the company claims.
The RTUs monitor levels at key points in the sewerage network and returns the data via GPRS to a central processing and display system, explains Steve Mustard, MetaSphere managing director.
The system, said Mustard “provides easy-to-use overviews of status information and access to data for incident analysis, modeling and investment analysis. A range of alarm criteria can be set so that incidents can be reported as they are starting to happen, giving the maximum time to respond.”
