AERC services include environmental sciences, monitoring, engineering and planning.
London -- AMEC plc has acquired Applied Environmental Research Centre (AERC) of Colchester, Essex, as part of a strategy to strengthen its environmental services, AMEC announced 3 April.
AERC is a £2.3-million turnover consultancy employing 45 scientists and engineers. The UK firm’s services include environmental sciences, environmental monitoring, engineering and planning.
“The environmental services market provides an important growth opportunity for AMEC, driven by ever more challenging legislation and increased pressure on industry to reduce its environmental impact,” said Jim Beechinor, executive vice president of AMEC Earth & Environmental.
“The ability to provide value adding consultancy services at an early stage in a project’s life is essential as it enables us to provide our clients with a comprehensive service from the earliest feasibility stages through to design, delivery and operation,” Beechinor added.
