New BLM TPT – Torque Preload Transducer from Atlas Copco Tools
11 Apr 2007
Atlas Copco Tools, the leading manufacturer of ergonomically designed industrial power tools, has launched their BLM TPT – Torque Preload Transducer, providing fast and easy evaluation of bolt friction coefficient u measurement when connected to the two channel BLM 5000 analyzer.
The BLM TPT transducers are supplied with a complete set of adapters to test bolts of different lengths. The bolts can either be tested with their original nut or with standard threaded hardened adapters.
Test setup is simple and fast, and with only three transducers (TPT 25, TPT 200 and TPT 2000) it’s possible to measure screws from size M3 to M24. In addition the BLM TPT transducer measures torque and preload, calculating the total friction coefficient. A testing certificate is then automatically created, which can be either saved or printed.
Other key features of the BLM TPT when connected to the BLM 5000 include:
- Reproduction of the characteristics of the original fastened joint.
- Simple to use adapters, making it easy to assemble the test fixture.
- Test is simply run by hand.
- Graphic software function to display results and guide operator.
- Immediate measurement of the total friction coefficient.
The BLM TPT transducer can also be used for torque/preload relation analysis, calibration of ultrasonic instruments, as well as for evaluating pulse tools. For more information on the BLM TPT transducer, telephone Atlas Copco Tools on 01442 261202.
