US receiving terminal to employ process and safety systems for storage, regasification processes
London -- Aker Kvaerner has awarded Invensys Process Systems an automation contract for a grassroots LNG receiving terminal in Louisiana. The contract covers process and safety systems for all storage and regasification processes, as well as remote control centers for marine unloading operations.
According to Invensys, it will provide an integrated system comprising; Foxboro I/A Series mesh-network-based DCS, Triconex high-integrity pressure protection systems (HIPPS) and Fire & Gas systems, and field instrumentation, in a control infrastructure covering approximately 8,300 I/O points.
The automation vendor will also implement its SimSci-Esscor Operator Training Simulator (OTS) solutions for the LNG terminal's processes for use in optimising plant design and operator training, Invensys said 2 May.
