Mitsubishi, Wonderware in software deal

Agreement covers use of Wonderware software in conjunction with Mitsubishi hardware
Cheadle, UK / Lake Forest, California – Mitsubishi Electric Corp. is to use software from Wonderware, part of Invensys, to deliver improved automation and information technology to its PLC customers. The arrangement comes under a global alliance agreement signed recently by the companies.
Under the deal, the Japanese volume PLCs supplier will use Wonderware software in conjunction with Mitsubishi hardware. The companies are also to cooperate on marketing the technical integration between their offerings.
The software agreement is “further validation of Wonderware’s singular focus on providing the absolutely best industrial software in the world,” said Mike Bradley, president of Wonderware, in a 23 April press statement.
“Wonderware’s focus is in the areas of open integration, visibility, analysis and the use of real-time information to power intelligent plant and business decisions across the broadest range of plant hardware, manufacturing software and business systems,” added Bradley.
