Jenkins is new president for EEF in Wales and the West of England region
London -- The Engineering and Employers’ Federation (EEF) has appointed Gareth Jenkins, managing director of Welsh firm FSG Tool & Die Ltd as its new president for Wales and the West of England.
Jenkins recently assumed the honorary position within the Federation after ten years working with the manufacturers’ organisation. A board member and previous vice president, he will gain a seat on the EEF Council in London and will represent its 6000-strong member companies at government level.
Jenkins is a former apprentice, who entered the manufacturing industry aged 16. He is a strong advocate of apprenticeships, and hopes to raise awareness about key issues facing the sector, in particular relating to business’s skills needs.
“The future of manufacturing relies heavily upon companies working together to adapt to the changing needs of industry and to attract young blood to the industry,” he said. “I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to represent Wales and the West of England on behalf of the EEF - it’s a great personal achievement.”
