Mobile Coolers For Industry
17 May 2007
The MetMann evaporative cooler from JS Air Conditioners is the ideal cooling solution for industrial areas during warm summer months as it runs on just 736W and can reduce internal temperatures by up to 9oC below the ambient.
The unit is on wheels and is easy to set up. It just needs to be wheeled to the area to be cooled, plumbed to a water supply and drain, and connected to a single-phase mains power supply. The MetMann cooler will then condition up to 10,000m3 of air every hour using the natural evaporation of water, cooling an area up to 626m3. Multiple units can be used for larger areas.
The area needs to be ventilated in order to encourage the evaporation of moisture but no active ventilation is required. Simply leaving doors and windows open is enough to provide a flow-through effect and improve the efficiency of the cooling process.
This makes the MetMann evaporative cooler ideal for industrial situations like warehouses, factories, storage areas, agricultural buildings, workshops, printers and machine rooms.
Using the natural evaporation of water instead of a refrigerant keeps running costs down and also has minimal impact on the environment compared to a standard air conditioning system. As the system is mobile it can be wheeled away and stored during the winter months when it isn’t required.
An added advantage of this type of cooling is that it also filters the internal air. As air is drawn in through the wetted filter mats surrounding the unit, particulate matter is trapped and the air is “washed” before being expelled back into the atmosphere. The filters are very durable and if properly serviced will last up to three years before needing replacing.
In order to maintain hygienic operation, the MetMann evaporative cooler will automatically drain the water in the tank when the unit is shut down. This keeps the water in circulation fresh and avoids the possibility of stagnation.
Other features include robust construction in stainless steel, corrosion resistant material and a polyamide roof, a low sound level axial fan, stainless steel pre-filters and a wall-mounted control panel that gives analogue control over the fan speed and includes an on/off switch.
The MetMann mobile evaporative cooler is available from JS Air Conditioners or for immediate purchase online from its sister website www.airandwatercentre.com with free mainland
