Explosion Protected Chemical/Pharmaceutical Size Reduction
26 Jun 2007
For customers needing safe size reduction of potentially explosive and combustible chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients, Hosokawa Micron Ltd. have launched a unique 10 barg shock-pressure resistant design of Hosokawa Rietz Angle Disintegrator.
The pressure shock resistant unit is designed and manufactured to meet cGMP requirements within a sanitary design and is ATEX compliant having an internal zoning classification to ATEX 20.
The Hosokawa Rietz Angle Disintegrator is designed for delumping, pulverising and grinding to produce uniform particle sized end product. Stainless steel, hard faced hammers subject the product to intensive impact and attrition with end particle size determined by an interchangeable 360° perforated screen, with screen sizes down to 76 microns. Construction facilitates quick product change and easy access to screens and hammers ensures easy cleaning.
The Hosokawa Rietz Angle Disintegrator operates with minimum vibration and low energy consumption and maintains a low temperature rise making it suitable for processing of heat sensitive products. Inert gas injection during operation is also possible.
Compact design and small footprint add to the flexibility of the Angle Disintegrator.
The newly develpoed PSR 10 unit is available within two current sizes, 200mm rotor size with drive motor powers to 15kw, and the 300mm unit with motor power to 55kw. The units are also available manufactured from exotic alloys such as Duplex for high corrosion applications.
Also available are a full range of normal, non-shock pressure resistant designs that, as standard, are manufactured to sanitary requirements.
