Emerson opens European Flow Centre
2 Jul 2007
Ede, The Netherlands -- Emerson Process Management has officially opened a new European Flow Centre in Ede, between Arnhem and Utrecht in The Netherlands. The purpose-built facility combines assembly, configuration, calibration, distribution and customer support activities that were previously carried out across two separate facilities nearby.
With 275-employees, the flow device centre serves the Europe, Middle East and Africa market; operating alongside four other Emerson flow centres; in Boulder, Colorado; Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Pudong, China; and Chelyabinsk, Russia. This global network supports the company’s manufacturing facilities in Boulder, Eden Prairie, Chihuahua, Mexico; and Sorocabo, Brazil.
The European Flow Centre focuses on devices within Emerson’s Micro Motion, Rosemount Flow, and Brooks Instrument lines, including Coriolis, magnetic flow, vortex, thermal mass flow, and variable area meters. These devices are principally used by customers in the oil & gas, chemicals, food & beverage and life sciences industries.
The 9,000-m2 leased unit houses a $1.3-million calibration facility with six individual test areas for different products and flow ranges, as well as training, demonstration and factory acceptance test areas.
“Europe is a very important market for us and our investment in this facility illustrates Emerson¹s commitment to customer service and support in Europe,” said Andy Dudiak, vice president of Emerson¹s Flow business at a 29 June opening event.
Emerson’s Flow Group is a $1.3bn-turnover subset of Emerson Process Management¹s Measuring & Analytical (M&A) division. The division contributed 43% of Emerson Process Management sales of $4.9bn in 2006 -- compared to 29% and 28% contributions, respectively, from its Valves & Regulators and Systems Solutions & Services divisions.
