Weighing systems increase brewery accuracy

Situated between Bristol and Bath, the brewery runs an efficient steam-driven brew plant in which beers are dry hopped in the cask and conditioned to produce consistency in both flavour and clarity.
To improve control of the operation, the company selected the Cleanmount II weighing assemblies and IQ plus 355 weight indicators from Applied Weighing. The units were selected for their reliability, ease of cleaning and simplified installation.
According to Craig Lewis, production director at Bath Ales, the new weighing systems have given the brewery “total control of the system which helps limit the amount of wastage and allows us to monitor any losses.”
The Cleanmount II range is designed for weighing vessels, hoppers and silos in harsh environments, including chemical, food, pharmaceutical or other applications. The 355 weight indicators, meanwhile, are encased in a stainless steel IP66/NEMA 4X enclosure for extra-long life, even in harsh conditions.
