Preventive maintenance plays an important role in ABB’s Lifecycle Management Programme, which encourages users to get the maximum benefit from ABB’s drive products throughout their entire service lives. Because they are tailored to match the age and condition of each individual drive, the kits are generally supplied as an integral part of a wider package of services within ABB’s Lifecycle Management Programme. However, they may also be supplied off-the-shelf if the user can provide the right information for ABB to effectively match the drive with the right kit. Relevant information would include the drive’s serial number, age and general condition, for instance.
Even the most reliable industrial equipment can’t last forever. In the case of ABB industrial drives, the main reason is the aging of electronic components, but environmental factors are also important. For example, a high ambient temperature, dirty atmosphere or high cyclical load can all take their toll. The recommended service interval for a given drive may therefore be anywhere between 5 and 10 years.
By combining the new preventive maintenance kits with an effective planned maintenance programme, users can plan and budget more easily, while getting the most out of their ABB drives for many years to come.
Preventive maintenance kits are only available directly from ABB.
