Nano consortium set for kick-off
15 Aug 2007
BHR has signed-up a number of members to DOMINO following discussions with chemical, pharmaceutical, personal/household care and equipment supplier companies. Other interested companies, it added, are welcome to enter into discussions and join the consortium ahead of a kick-off meeting on 18 Oct.
Founder members will direct the first phase of the project at the kick-off meeting. Primary technical areas for the first phase are: Particle Incorporation into Liquid; Break-up and Dispersion of Particle Agglomerates; and Dispersion Rheology.
The consortium will carry out experimental and simulation work towards enabling its members to apply the knowledge to their processes, allowing rapid scale-up and consistent product quality, said a BHR statement.
The DOMINO consortium will be run in the same way as FMP (Fluid Mixing Processes), a BHR-run industrial consortium, which has provided major chemical companies with reactor design data for the last 24 years.
