Emerson nets main instrumentation contract on China’s largest refinery/petchem site

Southampton, UK - Dushanzi Petrochemical Corp., part of PetroChina Co. Ltd, has made Emerson Process Management the main instrumentation provider for its $4bn oil refining and ethylene project in Dushanzi City, China. The project is being billed as the largest integrated refinery and petrochemical project in China’s history.
The Dushanzi project includes the construction of 20 refining process units and 12 petrochemical process units. The oil refinery will produce 10 million tonnes/year , or 200,000 barrels per day, while the petrochemical part of the project will produce 1.2 million tonnes/year of ethylene. Crude oil feedstock for the project will be transported via the Kazakhstan-China Crude Oil pipeline.
Emerson will supply more than 25,000 Rosemount instruments, about 2,500 Fieldvue DVC6000 HART smart positioners, 2000 Fisher control valves, and more than 400 Micro Motion Coriolis meters, for the project which is due for completion by the end of next year.
