Honeywell launches wireless equipment health monitoring system
27 Nov 2007
Brussels, Nov. 27, 2007 – Honeywell in collaboration with SKF, has introduced OneWireless Equipment Health Monitoring (EHM) system, which is designed to wirelessly transmit information - including vibration amplitude and operating parameter information – from the field to the plant control room.
OneWireless EHM is a compact, eight-channel - 4X vibration, 4X 4-20 mA - device that communicates over Honeywell’s OneWireless industrial mesh network. It collects acceleration, velocity, temperature and bearing condition data and delivers it to process operators and maintenance personnel to alert them of any problems on rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and motors.
The wireless device includes data acquisition equipment, database management software, and installation services, said Honeywell. The EHM software, it added, can deduce probable bearing defects, misalignment, pump cavitations and impeller wear and translate the data into alarms that appear in the plant’s DCS and Honeywell’s asset management platform.
