Walkers Shortbread installs pumps at new plant

London - Walkers Shortbread has installed pumping equipment from AquaTech Pressmain at its new  factory, in Elgin Scotland - the company's fifth production facility, which will employ 100 in the next two years. The three pumps sets were designed to maintain water pressure at a constant flow rate, which is required for the manufacture of shortbread, cakes and biscuits.

As specified by building services engineers Forbes Lesley, the equipment features twin stainless steel end-suction high efficiency pumps, controlled by the Micromatic MPC microprocessor, LED visual display and building management interface. All wet components are WRAS approved, while the units also have full CE compliance and independent certification to the pressure equipment directives.

AquaTech Pressmain is an amalgamation of AquaTech, Pressmain and Warmac Ltd - suppliers of fluid pumping equipment to the building services, process and water industries. Its product portfolio includes: pressure boosted hot and cold water supplies, fire fighting applications, sealed heating and chilled water systems, water storage tank level and temperature monitoring. The UK company operates two factories; in Essex and Manchester.
