Dallas, January 18, 2008 – Chemical manufacturer Celanese Corp has entered into a long-term supply agreement with Wison to secure availability of carbon monoxide (CO) raw material, to support future expansion at its Nanjing, China, integrated chemical complex. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wison currently supplies CO to the acetic acid facility at the Nanjing complex. The acetic acid facility began operation in mid-2007 and has a capacity of 600 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa). Accordign to Celanese, it can be expanded to 1200 kpta with relatively minor capital investment.
