A major pharmaceutical company has improved the efficiency of its powder check weighing system during the manufacture of dry powder inhalers by introducing a new system from Aitken Scientific. Weighings are now 30%faster and meet more rigorous health and safety requirements. A pneumatic lift-and-support mechanism protects the weighing balance, while blister packs from the inhalers are pierced and the powder extracted. Improved features include an auto-locking cabinet and an emergency stop. The system includes fully traceable design documentation.
