The proportion of production time and costs required for cleaning in industrial processes is considerable for many components; for a steel auto body frame component it typically accounts for 10% of production time and 5% of total manufacturing costs. For ball bearings the figures can be as high as 25%. Europe’s only trade fair for process cleaning, parts2clean, takes place at the Stuttgart Exhibition centre from 28-30 October. It includes an expert forum covering all aspects of cleaning within the production process on all three days.
