Cogent skills director for SE and SW England

London - Cogent has appointed Anne Harper as skills director with a workforce development brief covering London as well as South East and South West England. Cogent is the employer-led SSC for the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nuclear, oil and gas, petroleum and polymer industries.

Harper has spent her professional career in competence-based education and training. As a policy adviser across the UK, she has worked under numerous political administrations and has delivered numerous papers on the UK NOS model at international events.

In the last four years as a freelance consultant Harper has delivered programme and project management in the commercial, voluntary and public sector.

Cogent's remit is to provide skills solutions to these science-using employers including the development of national occupational standards; the provision of skills intelligence and advising on the skills necessary for businesses to compete and perform safely, effectively and profitably.
