Parker Domnick Hunter adds high purity water treatment
16 Jun 2009
London -Parker Domnick Hunter’s Process Division has a new high purity water treatment system to supply in excess of 15m3/h, including recycled water.
Mains water is pre-treated by a pair of CarboSoft units to remove hardness and free chlorine prior to passing through reverse osmosis (RO) modules. This is followed by electrodeionisation (CDI-LX) and ultrafiltration to produce high purity water with conductivity less than 1.3µS/cm @ 25°, TOC less than 500ppb, total bacteria below 100 cfu/ml and bacterial endotoxins less than 0.125 EU/ml.
Both the RO and CDI-LX membrane processes are heat sanitisable and the two new stainless steel ring main distribution systems are provided with UV and ozone disinfection facilities.
Elga Process Water designed and installed the two new ring mains and carried out modifications to two existing distribution systems to improve performance, complemented by Parker Domnick Hunter’s own microfiltration housings and cartridges, which have been installed into this system.
