AMEC reappointed to Northumbrian Water frameworks
20 Dec 2010
Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK – AMEC’s Entec business has been appointed to Northumbrian Water Ltd’s AMP5 technical services and commercial services frameworks, with effect from April 2011.
Both frameworks will run for up to 10 years, following an initial four year term renewable by a further four and two years.
The technical services framework includes multidisciplinary engineering, contract supervision services and associated environmental support. The commercial services framework covers contract administration and cost management activities.
The frameworks are in support of Northumbrian Water’s £1.37 billion five-year AMP5 investment programme, with the potential to extend into the subsequent AMP6 period.
These appointments will build on a 20-year relationship with Northumbrian Water, with typical fees of over £8 million per annum, providing employment for more than 100 consultancy staff, said AMEC.
Dr Colin Price, Northumbrian’s technical director, said: “Selecting a special group of companies to help us deliver our investment programme allows us to guarantee work and quality standards at competitive prices and means we can develop mutually beneficial relationships. It will be particularly welcome in these challenging economic times.”
