Endress+Hauser changing UK leadership

Manchester, UK — Endress+Hauser is re-jigging the top management of its Manchester-based operation, Endress+Hauser Ltd, with managing director Hans-Peter Endress to hand over the management of the UK sales centre to his deputy, David Newell, on 1 Jan 2012. At the same time Hans-Peter’s eldest son, Steven Endress, will join the company, focusing on e-business.
After more than 30 years with Endress+Hauser UK – and 25 years as MD – Hans-Peter Endress will step down from the executive but will continue with the company, which employs 200 people, as chairman with special duties.
Newell has worked for the Endress +Hauser sales centre for over 25 years and was in charge of sales and marketing since 2002 before taking up his most recent role has been as deputy MD.
The first member of the Endress family’s third generation to join the company. Steven Endress graduated in business studies from the University of Coventry and later obtained an MBA from the University of Lancaster. In between, he gained eight years of professional experience working in a number of industrial positions. His first challenge at Endress+Hauser in the UK will be in e-business.
Founded in 1953 by Georg Endress and Ludwig Hauser and established in the UK since 1968, Endress+Hauser has been fully owned by the Swiss Endress family since 1975. In 1995, Georg Endress passed the leadership of the company to his second eldest son, Klaus Endress, who is currently the group’s CEO.
