New filters take pressure off Bumble Hole Foods
11 May 2012
Bromsgrove, UK - Worcestershire-based Bumble Hole Foods recently faced production issues with its mesh filter media, which was collapsing under pressure after the company’s pasteurising operations. The company produces of a range of egg products from pasteurised egg to hard boiled eggs.
To tackle the problem, the company selected a stainless steel Pure-Screen filter, from Axium Process. This is designed to withstand collapse pressures of two to six times the maximum operating pressure of the filter. It is also suitable for final-product filtration where both product smoothness and consistency are required.
Axium’s filters are manufactured with a range of interchangeable stainless steel wedge wire filter screens from 25 micron up to 6000 micron as standard and are suitable for backflushing, CIP (clean-in-place) and SIP (steam-in-place) options.
The filters, which are available with material traceability to BS EN 10204 (3.1), can be fabricated to customer requirements and include a high capacity six-inch body design, a jacketed design for product heating or cooling, duplex, triplex and stand alone designs complete with framework.
